How It All Began
The Journey of Fayza: A Tale from Marrakech
In the bustling heart of Marrakech, amidst the vibrant chaos of Jemaa el-Fnaa, I met Fayza—a fragile, pregnant kitten, no more than nine months old.
Her frail frame, round belly, and alert eyes indicated her hunger, making her stand out in the crowded streets. Drawn to her resilience, I knew I had to help.
I named her Fayza, meaning "victorious" in Arabic. I took her to a local vet to ensure she was healthy and began planning to bring her to the United States. But on my last night in Marrakech, Fayza gave birth, and I had to leave her and her newborns behind—temporarily.
True to my promise, I returned weeks later. Fayza and her kittens were waiting, and I brought them all home to the U.S. This experience opened my eyes to the struggles faced by countless street cats in Marrakech. Fayza’s journey inspired a mission: to help vaccinate and neuter homeless cats, giving them a chance at life, health, and love.
Fayza became more than a cat; she symbolized resilience and hope. Through her, I found purpose—a journey of rescue, compassion, and change.
